Junior Professional Development (JPD)

Junior Professional Development (JPD) is an elite, cadet-led leadership training designed to develop senior enlisted Sea Cadets into operational-level leaders. This highly selective program is limited to six Chief Petty Officers (CPO) and/or Petty Officer First Class (PO1) cadets who will serve as the Command Staff for Training Group South Central 01 during the summer training evolution at Camp Robinson.

JPD transitions day-to-day operational execution from adult volunteers to qualified senior cadets operating within a structured chain of command under professional adult mentorship. Selected cadets will plan, coordinate, and execute an 11-day training evolution that runs concurrently with Staff Cadet Training, Recruit Training, and multiple NLCC and NSCC advanced trainings. This environment provides real-world complexity, requiring coordination across multiple evolutions, disciplined communication, logistical management, and professional decision-making.
