Recruit Training

Sea Cadet Recruit Training is the foundational entry-level training for new cadets in the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps. This intensive program introduces Seaman Recruits to the core values, structure, and expectations of the Sea Cadet Program while building the discipline, confidence, and teamwork required for future success.

Throughout the training, recruits will learn the fundamentals of naval traditions and history, military customs and courtesies, rank structure, and basic terminology. Instruction also includes seamanship skills, shipboard safety, first aid, fire safety, and an introduction to leadership principles rooted in accountability and integrity.

The program is both physically and mentally challenging. Daily Physical Training (PT) will help recruits build strength, endurance, and resilience.
