Judge Advocate General (JAG) Advanced Training

The Judge Advocate General (JAG) Advanced Training is designed for sea cadets seeking an in-depth understanding of military law, ethics, leadership accountability, and the administrative processes that support good order and discipline within the program. This course builds upon foundational leadership principles and introduces cadets to the structure and function of the legal system within the United States civil law system and its alignment with standards modeled after the United States Navy.

Throughout the training, cadets will explore the key differences between Civilian Law and Military Law.

Civilian Law

Cadets will learn how the civilian justice system is structured, including:

• The difference between traffic violations (including Teen Court proceedings), misdemeanor courts, and the various levels of felony courts
